Hey! 30 days and counting!!!
I've gotten most of my books & ordered my scrubs. The clinical kit and another couple of textbooks will be ordered this week. Malpractice has to be paid soon too.
As far as supplies: I got a tote bag for clinicals, my stethoscope/shoes/watch & a change purse that will hold my phone/$/lip balm that I will keep in my scrub pocket. I also got a planner which is going to be full in no time!
I'm also getting a clipboard like you've already gotten. The website you're talking about is the one listed in the back of our packet right? I should look at that!
The website gives us a head start on alot of fundaments and other things. Got my parking sticker and malpractice paid for. Been trying to catch up on tv shows to clean out mu DVR. Got a planner I hope it has enough room to put everything. I'm getting more nervous as first day gets closer. I need to go over anatomy book too to refresh myself. A tote for clinical is a good idea. I may have one I can use. I got my clip board from office depot. They have one cheaper at WalMart for 10$. Ohh the anxiety of the first day.my job is sill working on my school schedule and I hope my car makes it throughout the year.
I got a tote called "avenue tote" from Marcus uniforms or amazon. It has a zip top, water bottle holder, inner compartment, outer compartment holds iPad/ folder for paperwork etc and pen divider. Hard to describe but it's a perfect size.
Im waiting to see if I'll need a bigger bookbag. I'm wondering how many books we'll carry normally. My textbook mountain is growing weekly!
So tomorrow will be spent doing the stuff you've already gotten done. That website sounds handy.
Hi, I was waitlisted for lpn this year. I was alt #4. The program is very competitive. I tried for RN twice. So, my best advice is to have A's in your prerequisites. I had A's, B's, and 2 C's. I worked full time and full time classes. I had been out of school for a while also. The teas test had alot of chemistry and life sciences on it that I had to brush up on alot. Its a timed computerized test that took me about 3 and a half hours to complete. I would buy the teas book and study. I had the book and used google search for more info I did not understand. I would aim way higher than the 42% they say you need. Plan to take it twice cause second time u will know more of what to expect and u will have a list from first time to study from. They will give u your score and a page or so of what to study with the pages of were to find it in the ati book. I ordered mine from Barnes and noble it was 50 dollars. I also took a practice test from there website. I think it was 35$. There are other websites that can help u. You just have to google teas 5. I also looked at some you tube videos. Good luck and best wishes.
Hi all, less than two weeks till school starts. Has the anxiety set in for anyone else? Still no uniforms and my work still hasn't verified my weekend work schedule. They are going to wait till last minute..as usual. So Fridays are going to be very busy for me, school from 8 till 11:30 then work 3 till 11. Friday is going to be extra coffee day. I haven't started yet and the stress has already started to kick in. Get my mountain of books Mon. Best of luck everyone.

Was wandering what school supplies everyone is buying for lpn program. I was also wandering how everyone is doing to enjoy there last few weeks of freedom before class starts in Aug. I have bought a storage clipboard for clinicals, a simple calculator for dosage calc, index cards and paper for notes. I still need ink for my printer. I have been organizing everything and going through the website she gave us. Seems like time is going by faster as the first day approaches.
