Failed The TEAS 3 Times?? :((

Published

Soooo I have taken the TEAS THREE(3) times and always gotten a 50% or 55%. I want to try to take it for the FOURTH(4Th) and final time!!, but I am not really sure how to really prepare this time. For the last time I had a tutor that comes to my house 2 days a week, I bout the ATI version 6 study guide and I purchased the two online practice exams and I studied mostly every week for one month straight before the exam. I am beyond devastated and disappointed in myself and do not really know what to do now. I really want to become a nurse and I really want to take the TEAS again but I just feel stuck in a tight and hard place.

Were the test questions the same each time?

Have you taken all your pre-reqs? What were your grades in those?

Do you have a history of low grades, or does it just seem to be with standardized tests like the TEAS?

For me, I had a history of poor performance in standardized tests. I don't tell people my SAT score (I don't even remember it), but I graduated with honors from both HS and college. The issue that I had with standardized tests (aside from depression during the SATs...) is my stubborn refusal to read/think "outside the box". I tend to read things, get them wrong, and then say "Well, that's YOUR opinion!" instead of actually figuring out how THEY want me to answer the question ;). I also almost ALWAYS used to change my initial gut reaction. I tend to over-think questions to the point that I mark the answer wrong when I actually knew the answer. My rule to myself now is to go with my gut, and I've improved dramatically in my practice tests.

What sections are you failing? Is it ALL of them?
