Failed my hesi for the second time

Nursing Students HESI

Published

I failed my exit hesi for the second time and I'm completely discouraged at this point. I cried my eyes and heart out when I got in my car. I have put my all into nursing school passed all my classes with A's and B's and for the life of me can't seem to pass. My school requires an 850 to pass and we get three chances. I've gone to tutoring, I've done evolve, and I've read the Saunders hesi book. I just feel as though I'm falling into a depressed state. Is there any advice or suggestions that anyone could give me to help with the test? That would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Have you done any practice questions? There are several resources out there (UWorld, NCLEX mastery etc.) that have great questions to practice at. I took my exit HESI earlier this month and passed with an 1180 without studying for it. One of the reasons I believe I was so successful at it was because I had done hundreds of practice questions through Kaplan, UWorld, NCLEX mastery, and Lacharity.

Did you take the PN Hesi? Which resource would you best recommend? I really only want to use one.

Which resource would you recommend most? I really only want to use one. And did you take the HESI-PN?

Sorry for the delay, I've been studying for the NCLEX pretty much non-stop.

I took the HESI-RN. As for the resources, it really depends upon where you are lacking as each one kind of focuses on different areas.

UWorld is great for content review; their rationales are amazingly detailed. Their questions can be quite challenging too.

Kaplan is great for critical thinking. Their rationales are horrible but their questions really get you thinking about each answer.

NCLEX mastery is somewhere in between UWorld and Kaplan. Out of the four resources I used, it is my least favorite. Some of their questions are challenging but, in my opinion, most are either knowledge or understanding questions which is great for content review but bad for learning how to think.

Lacharity is great for learning how to delegate, assign, and prioritize properly.

Again, sorry about the delay. I hope you see this before your next attempt at the HESI.
