how to explain the employment gap?

Hello

I have made a similar post before, but I got another question and would like some advise on how to explain/prepare myself for the employment gap?

I graduated from RN program in 2015 in Alberta. At the beginning, I was employed at 2 GN positions. During March2016, I was disciplined by one of the departments, which eventually lead to the lost of the other position too.(both employers have access to my file as they share the same staffing system.) Later on, I was hired to a temp RN position during Oct2016-March2017. Since then, I haven't been working as a nurse until now.

I was disciplined because I made a lot of mistakes at one of the department and I admit that those mistakes are not acceptable. The employer had only made an internal discipline so that my license is still clear.

I am working at retail at this moment. I am planning to do some volunteer work at the health care field and maybe get a nursing aide job while I am looking for a new RN job.

I have a feeling that I won't be able to get any RN job in the next few months. Basically, my resume will show that I have been unemployed in nursing for at least 6 months. However, if I get a job offer, I need to be able to explain to the new employer about the employment gap. Could anybody (maybe somebody from management/HR) advise on how should I prepare/equip myself to show the new employer that I can be rehired as a RN? I wish I can take some clinical courses, but there is only online courses available. Would obtaining some online course certificate helps with the employment gap?

Thank you everyone.
