Hello, I was looking for some personal experience on doing an LVN to BSN. The basics of this is my boyfriend and I are trying to decide his career path. He has the trade act (which pays for school) but they will only pay for a certain amount of time. He wants to be a nurse but because it is so impacted (in LA) in this area it is likely the Trade Act will not pay for his schooling because there is no promised admission.
So we have been thinking maybe for him LVN to BSN is the way to go, except I'm seeing a lot of the programs require transferrable units which I worry he will not get in a trade school? We are in the Southern California area. He is considered an out-of-state student, he just moved here from North Carolina in June. Right now he is registered for Math, Anatomy and Lifetime Psych at our local community college, but the OOS tuition is awful.
What is your experience with an LVN to BSN. I know normally people will say it's a very roundabout way to get your BSN but being that is IS something he can get paid for (and earn extended unemployment while attending school), I feel this is the best option for him. ANy thoughts?
