Excited! Kinda Off Topic!

My NICU job search is still ongoing...if anyone remembers me!:) I've interviewed at a couple different hospitals but usually get the "you don't have any experience in the NICU" excuse... So, I've been working Med-Surg now for 2 1/2 years! Yikes!...Anyways...long story short, had a patient today who needed to go to the Unit as soon as I got on the floor...but our ICU beds were full so I got the be his "1:1" nurse until we got him a bed (I still had 5 others! Luckily my Charge came to help with those!).....Had him for 5 hours, called report, transported him downstairs to SICU....helped get him settled...and the nurse asked me if I wanted to Transfer! Yeah! I of course said ABSOLUTELY! :anpom:(without any hesitation)....I am really excited about this proposition because I've been told this may be the route I have to take in order to prove I can do ICU! So hopefully...I will be in some kind of ICU soon!

That sounds like good news! I must say you were not 1:1 with your patient if you had 5 others, my friend! Yuck! I can't even imagine... give me my one sick kiddo or 2 max, thank you!
