Hi folks-
It's been quite awhile since I've posted but I'm looking for some guidance......I'm an Excelsior ADN grad and am now looking to obtain my BSN and eventually my Nurse Practitioner. Here's the question....I am well aware of the problems EC grads have had getting licensed in some states. If I obtain an advanced.practice nursing, will the same.restrictions.apply? I'm particularly thinking of California. It will be a.different exam and concurrent clinicals.....looking.for.some answers
Thank you

Once you are at the level of advanced practice, your undergraduate degree will have absolutely zero meaning. Your Master's in Nursing from your FNP program will trump your Excelsior degree without question. The only concern would be whether or not the Master's program you are enrolled in would be accepted for licensure in California -- which, in the case of any legitimate MSN/FNP program, it should be.
I am an Excelsior grad myself. I went on to WGU for my BSN and am now in my first term of FNP classes at the University of Memphis. If you need any guidance, I'd be happy to help. Send me a PM.
