Hi all.
My fiance is a nurse here in New York City, and I am looking for some career advice and wanted some input.
I am currently in the tech field but would like to switch to healthcare. Due to time and budget constraints, I am looking at various certification programs to choose from, and one of my top choices would be dialysis technician.
From an insider's perspective, what type of salary can normally be expected for an entry level tech who has just completed a program? From what I can gather, it's somewhere around $18-$20 an hour here in NYC. I also see a lot of job postings from Davita, and I assume they are a big player in the staffing agency market. Are dialysis techs in demand right now or are employers looking for RNs who specialize in dialysis?
If I was to choose this path, I would most likely attempt to enter an RN program at a later date to advance my career.
Thank you in advance for your input! :)
