Entry level CNA jobs in Tampa, St. Pete, Clearwater

U.S.A. Florida

Published

I am trying to help my brother search for a job as a CNA in Tampa, St. Pete, or Clearwater. Almost all of the ads I have seen require at least one year experience in the field. He is currently taking his certification prep course but will be searching for a job with no previous experience.

Does anyone on the site know where he should focus on applying? Should he look into nursing homes or hospitals? Does one city pay higher than another?

Thanks in advance for the help...

if he hasn't started that course yet, tell him about this nursing home. it is located in seminole, florida. Freedom Square Nursing Home.

contact info: 727-398-0379 , ask for Samantha - education department

this nursing home has a CNA program that is 6 weeks. most agencies will not hire you with no experience, nor will they do so if you attend one of those test prep courses. they are just that .... test preparation so that you will pass the state exam. they don't give you actual training.

this course is 6 weeks long, from 7:30-2:30 pm

cost is $989, which includes the cost for the state exam. payment can be made in 3 installment payments or you can try to get them to hire you and pay the cost. if you go that route, you will need to sign a contract/work agreement to work for their facility after completing the program. their starting pay is $9.15/hr with no experience, with $1 ($10.15) more for working evening shift and $1 ($11.15) more for working mids.

not sure how that stacks up to other facilities in pinellas, as i do not work in this field. hope that helps somewhat.
