Enlighten me

Hello,

I am new to allnurses.com and current nursing student. I have a lot of questions but I will only ask one for now. I started nursing school a few months ago, no medical background (at all). We use ATI at our university and I am horrible at it. I keep having to do remediation. I look at my transcript and look up the information that it say I got wrong and I cannot find the information for the topic I got wrong (or at least not specific information that it says I answered incorrectly). I've realized that I am focusing on facts and not so much on major content areas such as basic comfort, safety and infection control. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong or what I need to focus on exactly to be successful with ATI and NCLEX. I feel like I need to read all the ATI books again to get better but there's just not enough time.

I am in the same situation as you right now in regards to taking ATI exams. I haven't had the same problem as you with the topics to review at the end of the tests. Those topics have been easy to find for me most of the time. I recommend reading the entire book. I know this seems like a lot, but it is worth it. Reading the book and doing topics to review is the best advice I can give you. All the information on those tests will come out of that book.

For those that like FREE smartphone apps that can be helpful for proctored ATI exams, check out ATI's RN Mentor app.

In addition to this application,

has excellent advice on how to study for ATI proctored exams (she also mentions the app).

Lastly, you can find used ATI books (current version) on Amazon.com typically for a few pennies plus shipping and handling.
