EMT to Nurse aide I, shortened Nurse Aide I class?

The nc state board of community colleges website says that there is a course titled NUR-3000 Nurse Aide I transition. It is a shortened class designed for people who are already EMT certified and is only required to be 70 hours maximum compared to the full Nurse Aide I course. I have looked at almost every NC community college website and none of the community colleges seem to currently offer this class. Does anybody know if there is anywhere in the state to take this class?

I could be mistaken but I think there is a way you can sit for the state CNA exam if you are already an EMT. Don't have any info about it so you would have to search or call one of the testing centers but I have been told you can do this.

You can challenge the state board. You should contact peasonvue. They can let you know what you need to do to challenge it. They are the one that give the cna state test. You can also print the study guide for the course i believe from that website.

Yes, you can challenge the nurse aide exam in NC. IF you were to fail 3 times, then you would be required to take a state certified class before testing again.

There are also a few companies out there that have 1-2 day review courses that will help you study for the test. There is a written and a skills exam to pass.
