Hello all, new here. Just a quick question to all of you that have applied to CRNA school. If you had any EMS expierence did it factor at all during the CRNA school interview process? I have been in EMS for a while but I am starting nursing school in the spring with the ultimate goal of CRNA and was just curious to see if the expierence even mattered or if it was a non-issue. (not looking for a short cut to school just wondering that's all.) Thanks.

I think most admission committees appreciate unique experience and education that some applicants have. It sets them apart. There are other paramedics in my program as well as NP's, and RT's. It wont be the thing that gets you in the program but it helps, IMO.

They will look at the whole picture, but won't count any of that experience toward the required ICU hours. Good luck!
Thanks for the replies. I am still going follow the normal path from nursing to (Hopefully) CRNA. I get asked all the time if the medic thing will help or hurt my chances down the road and never really knew the answer. Thanks again.
