I only studied for less than a month, took it once and got 85%. The score was enough to apply for the programs I was interested in, but not a competitive score of course. The schools were all lottery drawings, so I just got lucky and was accepted on the first try. I am not good in math either, but I would go over the category which you were weak in, like algebra, conversion, etc. Just keep practicing and you will get a hang of it. If the study guide do not have enough practice questions, you can go online, or pay a fee on ATI where they can give you a practice exam. Science is quite hard to prepare, because it is too broad, it could be on anatomy, physiology, chemistry, etc....I did not do well on this section either, I pretty much guessed everything. Since you bought the other book, maybe you can study from there. But know that, on the real TEAS, the kind of science questions you run into might not be the one you have studied.
good luck!
I used the Mcgraw Hill guide and studies for two weeks during Christmas break last year. I tool the test in Jan. and got a 91 on my first try!! The other thing that really helped me was looking through all the posts on allnurses about what others remembered from their tests, and I made sure I knew those things as well. Lastly, take the practice exam ati offers online, then you will have more confidence and can take your time becoming comfortable with the questions.
Good luck! You can do it just don't give up.
