I'm curious about the training that is available out there for Elopement Prevention and actions when an elopement occurs.

Is there anyone out there with training in elopment? If so, when did you get the training and from where?

What is "elopement"?

Elopement is when a patient just takes off. They don't even bother to sign out AMA. They just disappear.

Often, they are psych patients. We had one try to elope from our ED a while back. Broke through the ambulance doors, stark naked.

Created quite a stir when he ran by the big picture window of our waiting room.
