Education/certification requirements for hospital occupational health nurse?

Hello,

I have a patron who wants to know what the education/certification requirements are in New York State to work as Occupational Health Nurse in a hospital. Do you have to be a NP? Do you have to have certification (COHN, COHN-S, etc.)? Specifically interested in New York State - thanks.

So far I have gone to the NYS State Professional Education and NYS Nursing Boards which didn't say much and have sent a message to the NYS Occupational Health Nursing Association (waiting on a response from them). Also checked AAOHN as well and got some general information.

I was hoping there was someone from NYS on here that could help me out. I would really like to help this patron out.
