Hi,
I will be starting at the local VA in a few weeks. I was wondering what type of education benefits do they have for employees and how does it work. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

The EDRP (education debt reduction program) would be a good program for you to look into at your local VA :) up to $40k to pay off student loans dispersed in $10,000 increments over 4 years.

Hello - I am starting with the VA in ABQ next month and asked HR about the (Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP). I was told by one of the HR reps that the EDRP had to be listed as part of the benefits in the original job posting. Is this true? Has anyone successfully applied and received benefits from the program? Please help if you can!
Yes, that is true. Under the benefits section of the job posting, it will say if it is eligible for EDRP. I got this for a year at my old VA (MI) but lost it when I moved to Utah. By the way, it's a small world: I'm at the ABQ VAMC teaching instructors for the Prevention and Management of Disruptive Behavior class that you'll get with your employee education :)
Beautiful campus!
Yes small world indeed ! Thanks for the reply - I'm excited to get going with the VA - and orientation which begins next month
