ECPI as stepping stone?

I am a FT stay at home mom and have wanted to be an RN as long as I can remember. I have a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts already and want to go back to school, but can't afford to put 2 kids in daycare while I go to classes - so an ABSN is pretty much out of the question. I thought about doing ECPI to get my LPN at night, then working pt for a while and getting my RN at night from Durham Tech doing the LPN - RN track. Eventually get my BSN or MSN online through UNC or ECU. Thoughts? I know ECPI is a trade school, but at least it is accredited by the NCBON and gets me started on the right track.

    I'm in a similar position as you. I am a FT stay at home mom to a 6.5 month old. ECPI happens to be very close to me, but the only thing that turns me off is their extremely high tuition! I am thinking it might be worth my while to travel to Durham Tech, just because of the price difference. Do you have any family in the area that would be willing to watch the kids while you're in school? Maybe hire a babysitter a few days a week?

    I know this post is a little old, but Stanly Community College has a hybrid nursing program. Classes are recorded and posted online for students to view, you can do your clinicals on Saturdays. T

    his was my top choice for those reasons alone.You should contact the school to request some additional info.

    I know this is really old, but I was wondering if you could explain the schedule further? I live in Raleigh and would commute for the clinical. Are all courses online and I would only have to travel to Stanly Community College for Saturday clinicals? What about tests?

    I just need to know how much I would actually have to be in the Stanly Community College area. Travel time and on-campus time is really important in deciding whether I should apply to this program or not.
