ECPI Richmond?

Published

Hi All!!

I need some advice either from ECPI grads, current students, RNs, LPNs, or employers..

I already have a BS degree from a small non-profit liberal arts college in VA but, hate the career I am in, found out it wasn't for me. So, I decided that I want to go back to school to get a degree in nursing as most of my credits should transfer over. However, where I live there is one college that has a BSN program but they don't accept second degree students and the other, a local community college not only serves my area but the surrounding counties as well so the waitlist is long.

I was considering ECPI in Richmond as an alternative and am wondering if A) is it worth it? (Meaning can geta job after graduation and B) what do employers think about the school? I have heard that some empoyers dont really care 'where' you went to school as long as you pass the NCLEX and others say the opposite meaning if you went to ECPI or somewhere similar then you can forget about finding a job.

Anyway....I just need opinions I don't want to waste my time or money.

I've hear that ECPI doesn't have a great reputation within hospitals in VA. Also that they do not prepare their nurses well. It's extremely expensive on top of everything. I'd thought about ECPI as well but their VA Beach location. Ended up waiting it out and im applying to a different program instead.
