Hi. I have a misdemeanor for disorderly conduct dating back to January 2005. I only spent four days in jail and was released to my own recognizance. Will ECPI-Charlotte be able to find a clinical site for their diploma program in LPN, despite my misdemeanor from 10 years ago?
I have already been accepted to their program, and will be starting soon.
I already called the state BON, and they said it wouldnt be an issue to take the NCLEX-PN and get licensed in NC. It would seem a little bit odd that I could get licensed, but the school wouldn't be able to find a clinical site for me.../
What are your thoughts? thanks!!

Hi Weber! If the board of nursing said that it would be no issue for you to take the NCLEX, I cannot see an issue with clinical sites.
There are certain misdemeanors and felonies that will keep you completely out of nursing (grand theft, or assault and battery for example) but disorderly conduct isn't exactly the biggest red flag that could pop up. And as I said before, if the board gave you the okay, I'm sure everything will be just fine.
Congrats on being accepted into the LPN program- I'm about to begin term three of my LPN program at ECPI in Northern VA- if you have any questions as you begin your program, please feel free to ask!!
