economic and healthcare system effects on nursing

I am wrting a short paper that asks the question "What impact does the economic and health care system have on the practice of nursing?" Any input??

Can you be more specific? There are so many possible angles that the question could take, I wouldn't know where to begin.

it really doesn't matter. it is not a big important paper, just one page long. i am just looking for ideas and going from there. i guess i am going to write about the most popular issue, which would be the nusring shortage and possibly its effects on the workplace, education, and homes.
