I'm actually a travel nurse and have spent time at Cherry Hosptal in Goldsboro, NC. I found it a very friendly place and considered returning. However, I've heard that they are beginning to phase out travelers, as they did at Dorthea Dix. I just wondered if anyone here lives near Goldsboro, or has any opinion on this.
thanks..:-)

Sorry, don't live near there, so can't give you any advice. Why not try the direct approach and email Cherry's human resources department and ask them if they are still hiring travelers?

They ARE hiring....I start a contract next week. I'm concerned that they are trying to phase out travelers by not renewing contracts.
Just wanted opinion on whether that area of NC has an abundance of nurses, or if they plan to work short staffed.
I suppose only time will tell, but thanks for your response. I really like NC, have been here before. Just don't look forward to 'packing up and moving on' come December!.....:-)
If that area of NC is anything like my area, they are short-staffed and BEGGING for nurses. Please let us know what you find out. Inquiring minds would like to know.
Well I've ben on assignemnt since Sept 8th. I realy like this hospital and the area too....very calm and laid back...:-)
Just spent three months in central New Jersey......makes the traffic here seem soooo calm and considerate!
My contract has already been renewed, so I'll be here until atleast March. Probably can stay longer if I choose to. I' m glad....seems they're trying to weed out the folks who complain and remain inflexible! Oh well, I travel so I can work, and I know it's my job not my life, so I don't get too rattled by things!
Said ya' 'wanted to know'.....LOL
