Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has gone through Duke or Georgetown's Accelerated BSN programs or if they know of anyone who has or if they've researched the two programs at all. If so, what were your overall feelings about the program? Did you feel like the program prepared you for working in the hospital? Did you feel like you got enough support from faculty? Did you enjoy the program? Would you choose that program again?
I'm trying to decide between the two programs and am finding it really difficult. If anyone can offer any help at all, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks!

SF282,
I graduated from Duke's ABSN program. I can't say enough great things about it. It was a perfect fit for me. I felt very prepared to take NCLEX and transitioned well into the workforce. It's a top notch program. The ABSN program director recently came from Georgetown. The program is efficient and the professors are passionate about teaching and helping you learn. Professors were all very interested in your success and very accessible. There are unique courses and clinical experiences that are available to students to broaden your education that I did not find in other programs. Duke may not be "right" for everyone. And it's also a personal choice. So consider your cost, living situation and how you can pay back your loans. Also, think about where you want to work after graduation (or if you want to continue with your education) and make a commitment to networking so you can have a job when you finish. Duke offers incentives for ABSN graduates from their program.
If you are still undecided, contact the coordinator for each program and ask to contact a few students in each program to get a better feel. I'd be glad to talk with you more about it.
Best wishes,
Thank you so much for the advice. I got a great feeling from Duke's program when I interviewed and just needed some validation before making a decision. I think I will really enjoy it as well.
