I have a question on renal problems. In my notes I have written "DSWL: unpassable upper stone." which I'm assuming is a stone in the upper urinary tract (tubules, kidney, etc.) that can't be passed and needs surgical removal. But, what I can't figure out for the life of me is what DSWL stands for? Has anyone heard this term? It's not listed anywhere so I have resorted to here. I have emailed my professor but we all know how they love to get back to us ASAP.........
Any help is appreciated!

It stands for Dual ShockWave Lothotripsy.
Urology Seminar :: Duet Magna DSWL :: Innovative Technology for Kidney Stone treatment | Stiegel Consulting. Turnkey Solutions for the Healthcare industry. Serving the Asia, Europe, Africa & the Americas.
Update: It turns out it is ESWL standing for Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, which is used to break up unpassable stones!
Thank you!
