Hey everyone! I have an interview at a hospital in Lakewood coming up and could use some help. As long as I'm not driving during rush hour, could you tell me how long it'll take me to get from the airport to Lakewood? I've never even been to WA and have no idea what the traffic is like going through that Tacoma area. I'd like to look at apartments while I'm there. Would most places in Tacoma be in reasonable commuting distance to Lakewood? Thanks for all the help!

Maybe 30-40 minutes without a lot of traffic. Traffic is usually heavy 6am-9am and then 2:30pm-6pm.

Lakewood is just south of Tacoma but the drive through Tacoma can be bad at times - so I would suggest south Tacoma for an apartment (Also consider Spanaway, Puyallup, Lakewood itself, and if you enjoy the country - Roy (bit of a drive, say 40+mins, but not too bad with traffic).

Hope this helps

Yes, it's about a 40 min. drive from Sea Tac to Lakewood with no traffic. You will drive through some of the worst places for traffic in area though, so definitely find a place close to your job. Is the interview at St. Claire Hospital? I've heard very good things about that hospital! Lakewood itself is an ok town, it has its nice parts and not so nice parts. Puyallup is a great area too and an awesome view of Mt. Rainier from all directions!
