Drexel ACE program of Jefferson prelicensure?

Published

I got accepted to Drexel in Philadelphia for the nursing program and I got qualified for the fast track program BSN. At the same time I am on the waitlist at Jefferson for prelicensure BSN. I am thinking in case I get a positive answer from Jefferson, What should I choose.Any idea or experience?

Congrats! I was also accepted to Drexel's ACE program (for Spring 2013). I also am unsure if I should accept (I haven't even applied anywhere else yet). When would you hear back from Jefferson? Will it be within the 60-day window you have to respond to Drexel? Drexel's program is only 11 months, which is nice because it means you would be able to sit for the NCLEX and possibly have a job sooner. Jefferson's FACT is only 1 month longer, but you get the 9 graduate credits as a bonus. Best of luck with your decision.

Congrats on getting into Drexel! Which prelicensure program did you get waitlisted for at Jefferson? I will be starting Jefferson's APW program in September, which is technically considered a prelicensure program even though it's accelerated. I had thought about applying to Drexel's ACE program, but just didn't think I would feel ready after only 11 months. I'm not working in any health-related field right now and don't really have any experience, so I feel like I need to take a little more time to complete my education. Jefferson's APW program is similar to the FACT program, except that it is completed over 2 years instead of 1. I do like that I'll finish the BSN portion with 9 graduate credits under my belt, and have already been accepted into the MSN program. I want to be a Neonatal NP, so I will definitely need to get my MSN. I think your decision will completely depend on what you feel comfortable with...if the thought of an 11-month program gets you excited (instead of terrified like it does for me, haha), then I say go for it! If you happen to get off the waitlist for Jefferson and decide to attend their program instead, then I think we'll be in some classes together. :) Good luck!!!
