Drexel ACE class of '09 questions

Hello! I'll be attending 's ACE program starting this September '08 and have a few questions about transportation/housing location.

I've been trying to find housing with 2 of my friends, one will be going to Temple and the other to UPenn. We recently agreed on an apartment off City Ave near the Overbrook Station (R5). It comes with a free parking spot, so I'll also have a car.

- Do you think this is an ok place to live while attending the ACE program?

Because I'll probably be relying on the train a lot, i just checked out the times. It runs from 5:50am-12midnight on week days. That means I'll arrive at Market station at 6:10am.

-Will there be classes earlier than 6am?

Also ~ how often did you use a car? Do you really think it's necessary to have? Or can you rely on public transportation.

Thanks so much!

Good Morning,

I live in Philly and have also been accepted to the ACE program starting in Spr '09. The area(Overbrook) is a good part of the city to live in( I actually live there). You should be okay as far as the train. As far as the R5 goes you may also want to check on the 10 trolley which is right down the street from the Overbrook station because if the train is delayed you want to have a back up plan. You also have the 65 bus which will take you to 69th street and from there you can get on the El which will take you down town also.

From my understanding, at least from a lot of post I have read Your earliest class may be 8am. The days that you have clinicals, you should be leaving start from home so having your car is a great idea because you may have a clinical that has some traveling involved.

So, class days take the train, no real parking downtown. Clinical days you will need your car.

You can PM if you need any more information. I am happy for you. Congrat:yeah: on starting in the program. I will see you soon.
