DOJ Fingerprint status delay - CA

Published

Hey Guys, I wanted to go on here to share my story about the terrible experience with the BRN and how it took 91 days after fingerprint submission and almost 30 days after passing my NCLEX to finally get my license.

I am SURE that this has happened to so many people and I want to share what worked for me, even though it took so many days, tears, and stress. So after I took my exam, I realized after a week that my license hadn't cleared and come to find out the DOJ hadn't been cleared. The same thing also happened to my friend but for her, they never got her results and it was resolved in a day by fingerprint analysis. I had emailed back and forth between applications, licensing, endorsement, fingerprints, and called probably 5 times trying to know where to go for this. Every department told me to email the other department and it just went in circles.

For me, they had gotten the DOJ prints but took 91 days to clear it, and to be honest if I wasn't such a pest it probably would have taken longer. So...who to email? Email LICENSING. Or fingerprints first, then licensing. I emailed all of the higher ups and made sure to include my ATI and State control number (call the place that did your prints and they'll give you the number to call the company who processes your prints initially, the number is something like RN6O(oscar)34xxx). Also, add these document/screenshots of these numbers to your breeze account. After calling and calling and emailing and emailing, I finally talked to a woman who said she would take this to her supervisor. I would ask this from the start because the person who emailed me my license number was a supervisor.

So just DON'T let up and you should have it eventually. It took 91 days after submitting my application and almost 30 after passing the NCLEX. If you check your application status and the DOJ is missing, get on it bc it will take FOREVER.

Anyways, just thought I would share because I have a feeling this happens a lot and I couldn't find any help.

Side note, I also got hung up on by the BRN this morning. But that was my final call before it finally got approved so maybe they were just so fed up with me that she went to the supervisor and told her to get me off her back LOL whatever works!

I literally would hang up with the BRN and put my name back in the que because I knew it was going to take at least 24 hours to get a call back. Just be persistent. Good luck friends!
