Does a school have a right to hold us hostage, for that notification?

Published

Hi everyone,

I just got off the telephone with a WSU staff member, who informed me that everyone would be notified by mid June, late June, or even early July for their acceptance, wait list, or rejections, and all would be notified by emails. Because now, everything is now computerized, and they are doing everything to eliminate excess paper work and saving time.

Whattttttttttttttttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!! I heard three answers...and not for the price of one. I got no more information, than if, I had not called at all. And then the person said, don't worry we get lots of calls, and have no problems with answering all questions...so feel free to call us to inquire!!!!

I don't no about you ladies/guys...but in a medical field, that is suppose to be of high standards and inclusiveness, caring, honest, and supportive...these schools seem to love to give you the run around. All on this site I hear the same complaint...year after year.

Now you know that they have been doing this process...for years...they have had deadlines and dates to go through the applications for every one of us, past and present. Yet, why is it...so difficult, to be respectful of that process, that they themselves have put in place...Why can't they just honor a simple time frame of notification. Some reasonable appropriate time...like a date...within a day or two...where everyone don't have to frame their lives...around that long long excruciating...WAIT and anticipation!

Why is it so important to these colleges to literally hold a nursing applicant...hostage (so to speak in time)...after they have met all of their requirements...made it through their rigorous competitive GPA pool, gave two years of pre-req...and then being treated like cattle, just sitting wait to be called.

OK....that was a little bit much....but what the........!!??

But I am just mad as hell...and I don't care any....Woo...Wait a minute...hold on, yes I do care...I think I will just wait. (smile)

What is your opinion?...let's vent it now...which ever way...I am sticking to mine. (smile)

ha ha "cattle" I understand. MY wait is finally over. I got my acceptance letter today. It was only 3 days after they said they would be mailed so I thought that was pretty good. One of my fellow students got a letter saying she is on wait list and won't know for sure til mid July so that would suck! Hope you get accepted!

So, which nursing school did you apply to?

Congratulations! That stress of getting all pre-reqs fulfilled and that long wait for notification is over for you. I hope I get accepted just like you - way better than being on wait-list or ----:(.

Hi Haybah, I don't know if you was talking to me or denisenorris74, but I have already been accepted into Oakland University (OU), Mi, for Winter 2015, and now waiting on the email for Fall 2014, as I have indicate on this site...from Wayne State University. WSU is really the college I want because it is cheaper, and higher ranked on the NCLEX pass rate.

But WSU is 16 months and OU is 12 months. Again as I have said in this thread I am truly waiting to hear from WSU.

Hey Deenisnorris75...CONGRATS...I am and we are all happy for you. I see here. you have already wished me luck...thank you!
