This was my first time applying.

I want PSYCH. They only took 5.

I feel pretty deflated. I'm in NC and the only other school that is authorized in the state of nc for this program is south alabama. I've applied there for the fall. Anyone know how many they take? I'm kind of worried about my statement of purpose. It was kind of short. But my GPA is 3.5. I have ten years RN experience. 2 of these years doesn't in a locked psych unit working in the ER. The was spent as a SANE nurse and ER nurse, med surge and critical care. I'm currently a nurse coach now. If I don't get in ti USA I guess I could reapply. Not really interested in going Fnp route.

Does anyone know if you can do your regular msn and then add on a PMHNP cert? I'm trying to find a work around. I should not have to give up my dreams because one school said no. I finish my BSN In 7 weeks. Can't wait. Ill be 42 years old. I'm a little worried about my future now. I guess the rejection hit me pretty hard.

Hello, I was looking into becoming a PMHNP at one time, but decided to pursue my FNP and I am currently in the program at A&M Corpus Christi. I know there are also PMHNP programs available at UT Arlington and University, but I cannot remember if these were online or not. You can actually get your MSN-FNP and get your sub-specialty in psychiatric mental health. There are a few post masters certification programs for this. I decided not to do PMHNP, but plan on completing my MSN-FNP and then obtaining my post masters certification in palliative care for my sub-specialty. I hope this helps, good luck to you!
