In response to the nursing shortage, there is a new website set up to collect nurses' powerful stories about their relationships with patients. The stories selected will be published in an upcoming book called, "Nurses' Stories: Beyond the Cap". This book project is an attempt to capture stories of nurses' connectedness with their patients and the uniqueness in the healing relationships they establish. In addition, it is an attempt to share with the world the real image of nurses, one that goes beyond the media stereotype and the public perception. If people really knew about the terrific satisfaction nurses receive from their professions, there would not be such a shortage!
