Do I need to report a juvenile offense to take the Alabama boards?

Published

When I was a stupid teenager I had done something and everything was settled in a juvenile court. They said the files were sealed. Do I need to get something from the court when I apply to take my boards?

ALWAYS be honest with the BON. But the only people who can tell you if you have to disclose a sealed juvenile record is your state BON. You can call anonymously to ask if you want. But the application for licensure should tell you. It will have a question asking about criminal history and should say whether or not to disclose juvenile records and what types of records. Even though the records are sealed, the BON can see all records. They are more lenient when you are honest then if they find out in their own.
