Do CNA's have the right to refuse a case?

Published

:uhoh3: I am a CNA for a private duty/home health care agency. I have worked there for over a year now and I love it. It's the first job I have had that I get along with my clinical leader and scheduling coordinator. I have come to find out that's a hard thing to find even in home health care. I picked up a case a few months ago and it started out fine. The usual bathing, assisting with ambulation etc... Recently I have been getting some very inappropriate comments from the patient. I'm just wondering if I actually have the right to refuse the case. I was pretty sure I could but I've looked and looked and can't find anything about it anywhere. I love the company I work for and do not want to try to find another job. I've worked in nursing homes and hospitals and had this problem before but it was quite a bit different because I wasn't in the patient's home alone with them. It makes me very uncomfortable to go to this case. I've complained to work about it several times and requested a different case but it seems nothing is being done about my problem. Can someone help please?
