Do classes only begin in the fall???

Published

Hello everyone. My name is Lili and I am starting my new venture into becoming an RN. I will be taking my pre-reqs starting this January. I will start with Intro to Psych and English, then take my two A & P classes in the two summer sessions (4 weeks sounds good to me and I might remember all the material better). I am going to take the NLN PAX entrance exam test in March because if I do not get the grade I like then I will retake it in November.

I have a few questions. For those that went to Farmingdale...do you apply by January to get into the Spring Semester or do they only start the Nursing Program in the Fall? I will be going in the evenings and I am pretty confused on this part. I am wondering if I will only start school in the Fall of 2011 which is kind of nuts. I know that you have to complete all of the pre-reqs to be accepted right? Also, what is considered a good score on the entrance exam? I read in some posts that anything above a 90 is great but then I read that 135 is a good score. This is also confusing for me. I called the school but they do not offer too much information. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I would love to hear the whole process you went through from taking your pre-reqs, to taking the entrance exam to finally applying and getting in or not getting in. Thanks so much. This info would help me immensely.

One more question for anyone...do all schools begin only in the fall or do some start in the Spring semester? I just cant imagine waiting a year and a half before my first nursing class. If I have to then I do but I am wondering if there is a way to start sooner. Thanks again and good luck to everyone whether you are already a nurse, a student or a future student.

Some schools start in the spring but majority of them only start in the fall you have to do a little fishing around.

As far as Farmingdale, I think all of there nursing programs are fall only.

Thanks! Anyone else have info on anything I asked? Thank you so much!
