I am a DNP student who is currently on a semester of academic hiatus to grow my private practice a bit larger, in the hope of using it for my DNP project site.
A little background, I am a practicing psych NP and have a small cash pay telepsych practice for adolescents and young adults. Right now I have 22 patients total (I only work this practice after hours of my full-time gig) and I am the only provider-I live in a full practice state. It's a real single shingle private practice!
My hopes/goals are to grow the practice to about 25-30 total patients in the next few months. Is that enough patients to run a successful DNP project? Does anyone have experience with smaller numbers like this in their own DNP project? Also, has anyone done a DNP project at their own private, solo practitioner style practice?
Oh, as an edit: I do not work clinically at my full-time gig and we do not treat patients in any way, shape, or form there, and so that's not an option for my DNP project site. Bummer.
Thanks thanks!
