Hi! I'm a newbie and not even a nursing student yet. I just want to study my options when I get to Aus. Hope you could help me.
Div 2 takes 12 months to complete in TAFE right? If I start working as an Enrolled Nurse after I complete the TAFE certificate, and say after a few months would like to proceed to become an RN, how long would it take me to study in a Uni for Div 1? Assuming that I will work as EN while studying at the Uni. Will it still take 3 yrs, just like a regular degree?

My uni allows credit for the first year, so it takes two years to convert. I believe different unis have different transfer arrangements. I'm in NSW.
thanks bethem! when u say 2 years, is that full time study? are u still working as EN while going to uni?

Yeah, that further 2 years is full-time study. However, I believe that full-time in uni can be (depending on uni of course ) 16 to 18 contact hours per week so still gives you some chance to work.

While completting your Endorsed Enrolled Nurse (EEN) program you will be eligible for 12 months payemnt (You get paid to study). Once you complete this course you are able to covert and enrol in a Batchelor of Nursing program. You will be given credit for your EEN course.
It is possible to work at least 2 days per week during study semester and more during vacation.
