Distance ABSN EMORY UNIVERSITY-Applicant Pool??

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi community! Has anyone on here applied/been accepted to any of the cohorts for Emory University's distance ABSN? If so, what was your cumulative GPA for your initial bachelors degree? What about for your prerequisites for the program? How many prerequisites do you still have to complete when you applied? What was your initial bachelors degree in? Did you take the TEAS and if so, what was your score? I am trying to get a generalized idea of where I may stand in the applicant pool for early admissions.

I appreciate any feedback that is given!!

I’m interested in this info, too. Thanks for asking!

Hi Kristina, I applied on October 8 for the Distance ABSN program. I have a few cumulative GPAs:

Bachelor GPA - 3.1

1st Masters GPA - 3.88

2nd Masters GPA - 3.79

My first degree is in Accounting. I didn't take the TEAS because I was hoping to get a waiver due to completion of a masters program.

Hoping to get in. Very nervous. I think the results will be posted on November 13.

When did you apply?

I applied on the 12th of October. My Bachelors degree GPA was a 3.2 and I am finishing my Masters degree in December.
Both of my degrees are health related fields.

Where is everyone located?

Hi JLColton,

I am located in Boca Raton, FL. You and I applied about the same time.

Have you seen your prerequisites checked off as yet?

I haven't seen mine checked off.

All of mine are checked off. However, I don’t have any pending. Mine were all completed during my bachelors. So, I’m not sure if that makes a difference or not.

That's awesome. I have none of mine checked off.

I think you may get a decision result soon. Make sure to tell us. I have a good feeling about your application.

Has financial aid been in contact as yet?

Hopefully they’ll start marking yours off soon! Do you know if they received your official transcript by the deadline date?

I definitely have my fingers crossed! I’ll keep everyone posted.

I got an email saying the school received my FAFSA info. But I believe that’s it. I’ll double check. It did take the notification off of my tasks tab and says that financial aid was completed.

Thanks, I hope so too...Yes, they received my official transcripts by the deadline....the only issue is that my first degree is international (from Jamaica) so I had to get that evaluated....I am still awaiting the evaluation report. So, I think that may be holding up my application. I may not get an answer by November 13.

Yes, that should be fine. I got an email last night from Emory's Financial Aid saying they received my application but that's it.

The waiting game is terrible. Ugh!

Hang in there!! I’m sure they’ll be in touch soon! I’m sure the veal is the only hang up ?
