Direct patient care requirement for BSN

U.S.A. Colorado

Compliments of the season to all.

I am pursuing an accelerated BSN, and one of the requirements I need is direct patient care pertinent to the field of nursing. These skills need to include taking vital signs, assisting with ambulation and other activities of daily life, interacting with nurses and other care team members, and serving as a patient advocate.

I was previously a Navy Corpsman and a surgical technician, but that was about twelve years ago. I also recently completed all of the course requirements for CU UCAN.

Is getting a CNA my best option, or can I get patient care experience volunteering at a clinic/ hospital?

Kind regards,

surge
