Did Kaplan help with critical thinking?

I don't know if you are taking the PN or the RN but i got the NCLEXPN Kaplan book after failing my test the first time and after reading the stratagies i realized why i failed. It brought a new understanding to my test and made me think of questions in ways i never thought. I was going for the basics of the questions but after reading that it was easier for me to answer questions in different review books not just the kaplan.

For those of you who took Kaplan,
Did it really help you to critically think better? And use a method to get to the right answer? I'm interested to know because I think my critical thinking skills need work! If I had a strategy, I think it would really help! Please let me know! Thanks

Hi, I have an NCLEX-RN Kaplan book and Yessssssss it helped me a lot. I felt dismayed at first because it only has 180questions inside the book but after reading the books Part I which is about strategies and the tips of how to answer questions, its really worth it and i read it thrice before i tooked nclex.

P.S. : Mosby prioritization & delegation book is also a very nice review material for critical thinking.

Yes, The Kaplan online course/class is very helpful in critical thinking because the questions are very similar to NCLEX style questions.

in some way it helped me got through all my nclex questions. of course, when you sit and take the exam, you really need to think it through using critical thinking (integrating the knowledge, concepts and principles; putting them all together to be able to answer a question) but when you are having a hard time and not sure of your answer; then all the kaplan strategies will help you out.

read the book and it sure do gave me some enlightenment on the test-taking strategies.
