Did I make a mistake?

Hello everyone. I could have taken microbiology and physiology together this semester and met the deadline (September) to apply for spring 2016's nursing program at my school. I still have 3 more classes I need to finish besides micro and physio, but they're not prerequisites for the program and I could have taken them while I waited to see if I got accepted or not during the summer and fall (lottery system). Should I have taken micro and physio together this semester knowing that I most likely would not have gotten an A in both (since it's a lottery system I do not think a B in one or both of them would hurt), or did I make the right choice waiting to take them separately, making sure I can focus 100% on each and guarantee I get an A in both? I currently have a 3.9 GPA (my only B is in anatomy, almost got an A) and my school only counts anatomy, microbiology, and physiology for the science GPA (the A's I received in biology and chemistry will not count), so if I finished with a B in one or both of the remaining science classes I have my science GPA would be pretty poor. The reason I am thinking about this is I am going to miss the September deadline to apply for spring 2017 since I will be taking physiology in the fall, so I will have to apply for fall 2017. Since it is a lottery system I might not even get in the first time I apply despite how good or bad my GPA is, so if I don't get accepted I could be possibly falling behind one year because I didn't take a chance and take micro/physio together.
