I am an RN working in home health. for years i have taught diabetics in the home. I am interested in becoming certified as a diabetic educator, but can't seem to find the info i need on the internet. does anyone have the details on this? can an associate degree RN still be certified. thank you cher

I believe the October 99 exam is the last one that can be taken without a BSN. Unfortunately, the application cut off date was July 15, 1999.

But, this could change--they have extended the BSN criteria a couple times-it was supposed to be effective last year--so, I would still keen an eye on news of extensions. The exam is given in May and Oct. Try contacting the AADE or NCDBE for test information. Hope this helps.
