I have a question that I have been working on and I was wondering if someone could tell me if I have the right answer. I have to explain the correlation between carbohydrate intake and insulin for a patient on a traditional NPH/Humalog regimen versus a patient using insulin pump therapy. I have that a patient who is receiving injections needs to adjust their glucose injection according to their current reading and the amount of carbohydrates they are going to eat at the meal setting. With the insulin pump, the patient is continuously receiving a basal rate and then programs the amount of carbohydrates in the meal to receive the bolus amount. Am I on the right page with this? Thank you...

yep. Both require a knowledge of carb counting and self-motivation in order to succeed. You might search the web for Pros/cons of both types per manufacturers then see what topics are on both lists.
