Hi,
Not sure if I'm posting in the correct forum. But I am a nurse wanting to start applying for CRNA school. Does anybody know if a depression or anxiety diagnosis can prevent you from getting into school, or being licensed after school? A CRNA told me I should just say "no history" if this ever comes up on an application but I was hoping for a second opinion. I'm not on any medication, never been hospitalized or harmed myself or others.

Hi there! Whether you disclose anything is, I believe, completely up to you. CRNA programs also, with proper documentation, make accommodations for those with disabilities (I.e anxiety-- you may be given a quiet room to take exams in (this is just an example)). That being said, CRNA school itself is very grueling and has been known to cause these effects in people without "prior existing conditions"-- and I say that NOT to discourage you, but so that you can prepare with proper tools and techniques before you start a CRNA program. Rooting for you!
