Does anyone living or working in the south know about how the demand is for midwives down there?? I'm a SN up north (Pittsburgh) and want to move down there when I graduate. Any help is appreciated (especially info on Altlanta and other metro areas in GA, SC, and FL)!

I live in Alabama and am currently in school for my B.S.N. I would like to get a m.s.n. in midwifery and stay in the south. alabama doesn't have but a few cnm but atlanta has many and they are in demand. the bigger the city the better your chance. atlanta obgyn practices hire midwifes as well as the hospitals. of course you could have your own practice and expect to build up to $80,000 a year
