Hi all,
I have recently been admitted to both LIU and NYU's nursing schools as a transfer student. I would have to do 5 semesters at each of them to complete my BSN degree, but I am having a hard time making a decision in where to spend my time and study.
I'm reaching out and trying to find out which school people think are better and why. I've heard amazing things about NYU's program, but mixed reactions and experiences to LIU's program.
I would love to attend NYU's program, considering its great reviews, but the cost of it is causing me to hesitate; even though it would only be for 5 semesters, I would need to take out loans, and I've heard horror stories about NYU student debt/paying off their loans. This is why I'm considering LIU's program, but I've heard the administration there is horrible, professors aren't that great, and people feel unprepared for the NCLEX at the end of it, but at the end of the day it's the work you put in yourself to make it worthwhile.
If anyone out there is in/has recently graduated from either program, please share your experience; if you went to NYU, do you really think it made a big difference to go there versus other schools? How were the professors and administration there? Did you find a job more easily/quicker (than perhaps other peers in other schools) after graduation? Are you in a lot of debt and perhaps regretting going there versus another school? And if you are in/graduated LIU's program, is it really as bad as people say it is? Do you feel prepared for the NCLEX? Did you have a hard time finding a job quickly after graduating? Do you regret going/wished you'd gone to a different school?
All responses are welcome. Thanks to everyone in advance!
