Deaconess Oct. 2006 Nursing Class!!!

Published

Has anyone heard yet if they got accepted to the Deaconess Nursing Program for Oct. 2006. If anyone has how long did it take for you to find out if you were accepted? I just mailed in my application & fee plus all my transcripts & Kristy @ Deaconess says that my file was complete & was sent to the Committee for review for acceptance. Does anyone know how Deaconess determines who gets in & who doesn't or are they on a point system or what? I hope there isn't a long waiting list to get in.

Thanks,

I would call and ask when the acceptance letters will be going out. I don't remember how long it took me to get the acceptance letter. I do know that the more pre req's you have done the better your chances. They also look at the grades for your pre-req's.

Good luck.

Hi, thanks for the information. I have 47 credits already through another college. I will be taking Dev. Psy July 3rd through Rio Salado & then I start A&P I , & Micro in the fall. I talked with Kristy Gorden @ Deaconess & she said that I will hear something within two weeks & that I asked about the pre-req's & she informed me that those weren't pre-req's & that I just need to have like the course finished by the end of each trimester due. EX: Dev. Psychology has to be finished by the end of the first trimester, etc. I have been really confused. I actually sent in my application & fee for Spring of 2007 & Kristy says that she was shooting for me to get in for Oct. 2006. I guess now I wait. She said my file was complete & has went to the Committee & I will know something within two weeks. She said she didn't know how many people have applied. So the wait is on.

Thank You, Carolyn:uhoh3:

Hi, Are either of you doing the ASN with the online classes and cliinical in your hometown (not inSt Louis). I am looking into doing this but am having trouble getting more information about it. Or are you two attending classes on campus?

Hi: I'm starting in the fall with Chamberlain College of Nursing out of St. Louis, Mo. The class I'm taking is the online ASN with my clinicals at a local hospital in Oklahoma. I would suggest going to the website www.chamberlain.edu and requesting information on the ASN web-based program with PN component. What I did was I went to their website and requested information and when I received it I reviewed it and then I sent in my application with my $50 application fee and then waited to here back from them. Then your advisor will email or call you letting you know what all she needs. You will have to have an official copy of your high school or GED transcripts plus all of your college transcripts sent to her to go into your file then your file will go to the committee for acceptance. Then after acceptance you will get a package telling you what you need to do and send back in. For clinicals you need to get in touch with all your local hospitals and then call them and ask for human resources and then talk to someone in that office about the program and needing to have your clinicals done. The hospital must be a full hospital that will offer like OB/GYN , Elderly, Pediatrics, so forth. What state are you from? If you need any more help please email me and I will try to help you out as much as I can.

Carolyn
