This might seem a bit complicated.
I am currently an undergraduate student at Case Western's Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing.
I'm trying to think a couple years a head, and here is my dream:
-Become a nurse anesthetist
-Get my DNP
Case offers a post-licensure combined MSN-DNP program. What it says on the website is something akin to: right after you graduate and meet all the requirements, you can apply to our program. If you get it, choose a major for your MSN and then you can begin the combined program.
However, from doing a bit of research, I know that in order to even ENTER a Nurse Anesthesia program at most schools, they require you to work a year or two (or possibly more) in a hospital setting before even applying to a Nurse Anesthesia program.
My question is this: If I wanted to do the combined MSN (in anesthesia) and DNP program at Case, do I have to work a year or two in the hospital setting beforehand????
It makes sense that indeed, I would have to. However, I can't seem to find any information stating that it is a 'must.'
Anyone know?
