CVS minute clinic Clinicals

Published

Hi there,

I have a first video interview with CVS coming up & wanted to know what questions did they ask you? They said it's 2 questions and could be about my goals, motivation and experience.. really don't want to mess this up so hoping for some pointers. Thanks!

It's been about a decade(ish) so take this with a grain of salt - I was asked: 1. My thoughts on chronic disease management & which professional organizations I would reference for standards of care & 2. Where I saw myself in 2, 5, & 10 years.

You didn't ask but I'll offer my experience:

They were building out a program for chronic disease management at the time (my answer was that I was all for whatever patients needed, chronic disease management certainly fell within that realm, & offered ACC/AHA for hypertension & CHEST for anticoag). They also were looking for people who wanted to establish & run said programs (my answer was that I am always looking for process improvement, have background in starting/continuation of demanding projects, & naturally fall into leadership roles so I saw myself moving into clinical leadership roles, as they presented; I asked what those roles looked like). Essentially, they wanted to make sure that I was inline with their mission/vision/goals/objectives & if I was going to apply myself to the point that I would be hirable. I jokingly asking if they'd ever considered an NP in a Medical Director role & was actually taken pretty seriously; apparently they'd never been asked that before. They followed-up, let me know they were strongly considering it, could see it in their future, & asked what that path might look like for a NP - at the time, I was obvious to how cool that was. I believe they do now employ NP's as Medical Directors, although to what capacity, I've no clue.

Clinical there was steady & uneventful, although I did learn a lot just talking with my preceptor on her past, as she was very experienced in a wide range of settings. I was offered a job to start after graduation but politely declined & went another route. If you can, as who your interviewers will be & learn a bit about them. Read up on the orgs most recent objectives/goals & imagine yourself in them, as if the sky was the limit. Best of luck to you!

@MissyNP wow thank you so much for your comment! This definitely gives me a better idea of what to expect. I really appreciate it! Have a great day!
