As a student, I'd like to hear how's your experience and know what to expect :)

I graduated May 2015. Have been working ever since. I love being an MA. Depending on where you work, you can see a wide variety of things. I started out at Two Urgent Cares and eventually got hired into a Health system. I was able to float around in the hospital to different departments. You were also able to work in the Emergency department as well. I mainly worked in an ENT department. It was so cool, because you would work side by side with the docs. I was able to assist in minor procedures. At first it was overwhelming, because I was just in shock to be working so closely with the doctors. But then you realize they are normal people. and completely different from what you expect them to be. In my department we always did pot lucks and would do happy hour every once awhile with the docs, MA's and CSR's. Sometimes I have a moment, where I'm like, wow I'm really in my career field. I havent been out of school for a year and am already finishing my pre reqs for nursing. Working as an MA made me want to go further. The pay for MA isn't so well depending on the area, but you don't do it for the pay honestly.

I loved working in a private office. I had many opportunities to learn and grow. However the clinic moved into hospital setting and many of my tasks were not allowed in that setting. Which is why I became a nurse.
