Hello Everyone,
I made this thread for any current nursing student, alumni, or anyone applying to the nursing program at CUNY York college. I'm planning on applying to their generic nursing program and would like to hear from any other student planning to do the same. Also, from any current student who can share their thoughts on the program, their statistics (grade wise if you feel comfortable doing so) and possibly your NLN pre-admission exam score. Any alumni can feel free to comment on this thread as well.

I applied this year for Fall 19 with below stats:
Pre-Req GPA: 3.75
NLN Score: 94th Percentile
I don’t know the application process and I don’t know anyone in the program. I just hope I get accepted. I asked how much people they would accept and they didn’t know yet because it’s based on the school’s budget.

Wow with this GPA and score I doubt they’ll deny your application. Good luck ! My Gpa is a 3.6 but I haven’t taken the NLN. I was told not to take it until I finish A&P. Can you tell me how you studied and what you think I should do wether take it now or wait until I’m done with A&P 2.
I hope they don’t deny my application ☹️
I studied using the red book, “Review Guide for Rn pre entrance exam.” And I also bought the NLN Science practice test from the nln’s website.
On the exam there was an entire reading passage from the review book and many science questions from the nln science practice exam.
The exam is not hard and you’d be surprised at your own score. 78% in science = 99th percentile. So it’s really based on the group that you take the exam with. Math was easy, easier then the practice book. Some of the Science was basic A&P/Bio stuff. Hardest part was the vocabulary.

You most certainly will get it ! I know someone who got in and get gpa was less than that. And you did very good on your NLN. Thanks so much for the tips but I have one last question. I’m still taking bio (summer) and I’m not that confident with A&P. Is there any chemistry on there? I’m scared about the science because I’m feel like I’m not ready for that part.
I got accepted

3.0 is the minimum GPA and it’s a CUNY. City schools are always extremely competitive. I’m not sure of your chances. I wasn’t even sure of my own chances and my gpa was a 3.75. Your NLN score is high, but I don’t know how they factor it in.
