cumming, alpharetta, and lake lanier

Published

Hello. We are looking to relocate to Georgia after my husband is done with CRNA school next summer. I am also a nurse. I wondered if anyone had any info on hospitals in this area, good places to live, schools, etc. I did go there 2 weeks ago and met with a realtor in the Lake Lanier area, nice houses for a nice price but still seems kinda country and out of the way. We are looking for a nice place to work, raise kids, etc. any info would be appreciated! Thanks!

In my opinion, the Lake Lanier area is a great area to live and work. Northeast Georgia Medical Center is in Gainesville (near the lake) and is considered a hospital that treats its nurses very well. Alpharetta has great schools, not sure about cumming. All of the cities you listed are within 30 minutes or so of Atlanta, so it's not too country. I actually prefer that, to avoid traffic and such.

I live in Flowery Branch about 3 miles from Lake Lanier. Hall county has great schools and boating is fun in the summer. I work in Atlanta for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. It takes me about 40 minutes to get to work. I don't think it's too bad. Northeast Georgia Medical Center is also a good hospital to work for. Northside Hospital has a campus in Cumming or Alpharetta I think. I know a lady who works there and likes her job a lot. She works in the ICU. Good luck.
